WHAT'S THE POINT?

And you may wonder, what is this blog for? is Laura planning to give us more work? We are already full of tasks, papers, exams, etc!! You are right, I know that you have a lot of things to do.
This blog is not supposed to give you more work, it is created to help you in case you need it.
The tasks that will appear here are completely optional. If you decide to do them, I will give you extra points in your final mark. However, if you don't have time or you don't like it, I won't penalize you.
So now that you know the truth about the blog, have a look... or disconnect!!

ENGLISH IS IMPORTANT!!!

Do you get it?

TRYING TO MEET YOUR NEEDS

As I told you in class, I cannot read your minds, although I try all the time. In order to help you with your needs, I've created this space for you to ask for exercises about whatever you need.
Use it!

EXAMS TO PRACTICE

On the "Selectivitat corner" you will find the information I gave you about the structure of the exam and the punctuation and also some exams to practice on your own.

Under the title "Exams June 2006" and "Exams June 2007", you will find two texts in each of them. There are also the introductions and the questions for the corresponding listenings.

Under the title "Exams September 2006" and "Exams September 2007", you will find one text in each of them with the corresponding introductions and questions for the listening.

I'm still thinking of the way to upload the audio-texts for you to do the listenings at home, but I think you better concentrate on the reading part for the moment.

You can either do the exams and I will correct them or I can upload the keys as well. We will talk about this in class.

READING TASK (SELECTIVITAT)

Hello again!

This morning we worked on a text about Dracula and we answered the questions all together. This was your first contact with a REAL text of selectivitat, and you saw that it is not easy, but we can manage!!!
Tell me (and your classmates) what are the most important things to do and remember when you are in front of a text of selectivitat??
Remember what we have been saying in class and the impressions that you've had.

NOTE: Remember that, if you are in my group (hora B), you MUST add a comment to this post. If you are not in my group, you are more than welcome to participate, of course. I hope this helps everybody.

LOOKING FOR A FILM

Dear students,

For the last week before Christmas, I thought it could be a good idea to watch a film in English. However, it is very difficult for me to choose a film.
For the moment, I have thought of one which I really like and which is funny.
If you click on the podcast bar, you will be able to listen one of the main songs in the soundtrack of this film. Do you know it? Have you seen it? Did you like it? Would you like to watch it?
Make a comment if you know the title of the film I'm thinking about and say a film that you would like to watch in English.

Thank you!

LISTENING TASK

If you want to practice your listening skills, you can try with this exercise:

Click on here and listen to the conversation and the explanations following.

When you finish, write a comment explaining what is the conversation about and any comments you have about the podcast.

Enjoy it!

LEARNING TO WRITE

I've been thinking about the dates for our "special" lessons about learning to write. I have finally decided that we will have a session this Friday 5th and we will also have another one next Friday (12th December). Remember that these lessons will be from 10.30 to 11.00 and you are absolutely free to attend them or not.
See you on Wednesday in class!
Laura
